Liverpool devoted fan Isaac Kearney has been reunited with Reds icon Mohamed Salah at Trabzonspor in a heartwarming video. The young boy from Kirkby has won over people worldwide.
Isaac was born with Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome, a rare genetic condition, meaning he develops more slowly than other children his age. His mother, Melissa, and father, Alan, have sought to raise awareness of Isaac’s daily life through social media, amassing over one million followers on TikTok alone, with supporters regularly sending their well-wishes to him and his family.
He featured in a video last year alongside Salah and Virgil Van Dijk. He has also served as a mascot, meeting the Reds’ first-team squad.
The eight-year-old has now appeared in an Instagram video travelling out to Turkey, where Salah now represents Trabzonspor. Former Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana, now a shot-stopper at the Turkish club, was also shown presenting his gloves to Isaac.

The caption accompanying the video described the club as being more than just a football club. Among those commenting on the video was Reds legend Ian Rush, who simply posted a red love heart emoji.
Isaac also shared several posts about his experience on his Instagram page. In one post he described how Trabzonspor and Turkish Airlines worked together to fly his family out to surprise Salah. He expressed his excitement at being able to share the news with his followers and thanked Trabzonspor for helping create an unforgettable moment. He also expressed gratitude to Andre Onana for gifting Isaac signed gloves, which he wore all the way back to the hotel. He noted that he still thought the experience could not be real and that it was only once they touched down in Trabzon that he knew it was actually happening.
Isaac’s reunion with Salah comes just months after the Egyptian left Merseyside. The 34-year-old departed after nearly a decade at Anfield.
Salah secured numerous major trophies since joining Liverpool under then-manager Jurgen Klopp in June 2017. These included two Premier League titles, the Champions League, FA Cup and two League Cups.
The forward posted an emotional video to Liverpool supporters on his social media accounts when his departure was confirmed. In the video he explained that the day he had dreaded had arrived and that he would be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season. He described how he had never imagined how deeply the club, the city and the supporters would become part of his life, stating that Liverpool was not just a football club but a passion, a history and a spirit that he could not adequately explain to anyone not connected with the club. He referenced celebrating victories, winning the most important trophies and fighting through the hardest times together. He thanked everyone who had been part of the club during his time there, particularly his teammates past and present. Addressing the fans directly, he said they had supported him through the best times of his career and had stood by him during the toughest moments, something he would never forget and would always carry with him. He acknowledged that leaving was never easy and that they had given him the best time of his life, stating that he would always be one of them. He concluded by saying the club would always be his and his family’s home and thanked everyone, noting that because of their support he would never walk alone.
