Liverpool complete four signings as academy player leaves on loan to Levante

The window is about to shut, and Anfield still has business to conduct. English clubs have until Tuesday, September 1 at 11pm to complete their dealings, after which Liverpool will have to hold off until January before they can continue reshaping their squad under their fresh managerial appointment.

Strengthening the attack has been the main focus, and the club have seen two offers turned down by Brighton for Gambian wide man Yankuba Minteh, with the south coast outfit standing firm for a sum exceeding £70million.

The Merseyside club also retain an interest in Paris Saint-Germain attacker Bradley Barcola but have given no indication so far that they would be willing to meet the price tag, which was originally reported as a minimum of £130m.

There are also doubts surrounding Cody Gakpo’s long-term prospects at the club, with Tottenham Hotspur persisting in their pursuit of the Dutchman. Meanwhile, temporary moves may be arranged for several of the club’s Academy hopefuls, with Ifeanyi Ndukwe the most recent youngster to leave temporarily after his switch to Spanish side Levante was rubber-stamped on Saturday.
